What
is JMEA?
JMEA is short for Joe’s Moderately Entertaining
Adventure, a video project we began in 1990.
What
is JMEA about?
It’s about an hour-and-a-half (the official version, anyway).
How
many versions are there?
Technically, four. The original proto-JMEA was slapped
together in 1990, and ran about 16 minutes long. The second version
was made in 1991 and is considered the “official”
video edition. The third version is the same as the second, with
a lot of unnecessary extra material added in. The fourth version
is the “special edition” DVD which we’re currently
putting together.
Seriously,
though, is there a plot?
BWA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA…That’s a good one.
Okay,
fine. Who’s in the film?
First of all, we don’t like to refer to JMEA as
a “film”. Some of those involved don’t like
to refer to it at all. Basically, it’s a bunch of us who
knew each other from high school, plus some family members and
other acquaintances. You can check out pictures of the primary
offenders at www.maskedmenproductions.com/about.htm.
Is
it just me, or did everyone in JMEA look like real goofballs?
Yes, especially Mike (but at least he had hair then).
How
do I see the film, or snippets from it?
As far as the video edition goes, it should never be seen by anyone.
Mainly because we’re making the DVD edition, but also because
no should be subjected to that kind of torture. If you are one
of those people who’ve seen it, you have our sympathies.
We’ve begun posting clips on the Media section of the JMEA
page. We’re also planning on posting the vintage 1991 JMEA
trailer, once we’re done “restoring” it.
This
seems like a lot of effort for something that’s essentially
your home movies. Why bother?
Posterity? Nostalgia? The thrill of video editing? VHS tapes taking
up too much space? Take your pick.
Are
you making all these inane questions up?
Only the inane ones. But anyone who wishes to submit an actual
question about JMEA can email us as: oisac@maskedmenproductions.com.
This
was not helpful at all.
Was that a question?
